Spider-Man has always been the guiltiest superhero. In his début appearance, he has the chance to apprehend a thief, and balks; the thief later murders his uncle. Attempting to rescue his girlfriend, who has been pushed from the Brooklyn Bridge, he accidentally breaks her neck. His alter ego, Peter Parker, works as a freelance photographer for the Daily Bugle, where the editor insists on portraying Spidey as a criminal.
