A Time to Marry in California

It’s been three years since Northern California District Court Judge Vaughn Walker found Prop. 8—the ban on same-sex marriage, narrowly approved by fifty-two per cent of California voters in 2008—unconstitutional. But, as I wrote at the time, the wedding confetti did not start flying: right after his ruling, Walker issued a stay on marriages, to give the opposition time to appeal.
